Early pregnancy test: HPTs or Blood Test
Mothers planning for a baby are curious to know if they are pregnant to the nearest possibility. Not even a day more to miss their periods they reach to the nearest medical store to get a home pregnancy kit. There are many mothers who also get depressed after checking months on months to their negative pregnancy and then find a need of doctor. Early pregnancy test is considered to be quite accurate but one should know when the early pregnancy test should be taken. Every woman has different cycle and for the same reason it is not yet told when is the correct time to get the early pregnancy test done. As you understand an expecting mother is the most curious one and has all the hopes lying on one early pregnancy test. Hence, they are always keen to know to the nearest possibility, at the earliest, if in case they have conceived. Home Pregnancy tests were not very popular till the late 1990s when they were commercialized as part of the rejuvenation systems set up by the commercial medication developers.
It is very clearly stated that early pregnancy test at home is detected upon the HCG (HUMAN CHORIONIC GONADOTROPIN) once the eggs ovulates the hormones get mixed with the urine. This occurs after six days of ovulation. HCG can be detected in the urine of the person which thus helps in deciding if the person is indeed pregnant. But this hormone can fluctuate in a woman based upon her cycle, and hence may not be completely accurate. Thus it says after six days a home, early pregnancy test may provide results which might be inaccurate. Some women may still get an accurate result before the 6th day of their ovulation. It is best recommended for women to wait till their period is due to take the early pregnancy test, for most accurate results from an early pregnancy test. In most cases early pregnancy test is an effective solution.
Blood tests as an early pregnancy test, on the other hand, are the most reliable and professional means of ascertaining the pregnancy, and hence far more reliable than a home-pregnancy kit. Many women who test negative constantly on the HPT could get a positive result on the blood tests conducted by the doctor. As it seldom happens, in certain cases the HCG does not even register on the woman's tests till after 3 months.
The drawback of the blood test as an early pregnancy test is that it could take anywhere from a few hours to an entire day to get back the results which could be very stressful for a woman waiting to find out if she is pregnant. Home pregnancy kits therefore are far more helpful since they give immediate results for an early pregnancy test.
Since blood tests are far more sensitive and can detect even small levels of HCG hence are far more reliable. There are several reasons to take an early pregnancy test since it can detect the pregnancy level far accurately quite soon into the pregnancy within 7-12 days of pregnancy. Doctors prefer the early pregnancy test because the HCG level doubles every 2 days in the first month of the pregnancy, and hence is easy to use to detect the term of the fetus. Extremely high levels of HCG could also entail that the woman could even be carrying twins.
Given the ease in availability, privacy and the comfort level of taking a HTP more and more women are leaning towards this, as opposed to blood test for their early pregnancy test.
